Our weekly topic at Humpty Dumpty is Vegetables! As this topic rarely inspires any excitement and enthusiasm in the children, we try to make a more practical case for vegetables, such as “Eat your veggies, or no presents from Santa this year!” But regardless of your dining preferences, vegetables can be a very interesting topic to research. For example, tomatoes and potatoes are both in the nightshade family, which also includes the poisonous “atropa belladonna”, and how interesting the substance tannin is and how it impacts the taste of tea and wine. We’ll try our best!
